Description
Program Notes:
“My Design in this Book is not to explain the Properties of Light by Hypotheses, but to propose and prove them by Reason and Experiments.” — Sir Isaac Newton
From gloom to glory, glint to glare, glaze to gloss, the English language has about 25 words beginning with “gl-” that have to do with light. Light is not all that interesting in itself. These questions captivate: From where does this light come? On what does it shine? How? To such, the “gl-” words offer more than two dozen clues.
