The Cincinnati Symphony Youth Orchestra, led by Samuel Lee, will premiere a new orchestra piece, “Fantasy on an Irish Tune,” in a side-by-side concert with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra.
The piece was commissioned by the Barlow Endowment for Music Composition at Brigham Young University and the American Composers Orchestra, with support from the Steven R. Gerber Trust.
As some of you know, Chandler Hatch and I are teaching a class at Tufts now called “Star Wars: How Long Ago? How Far Away?” The idea is to use Star Wars as a gateway to learning how to research in the humanities.
