Still Winter Air

SKU: WMP-166

Inspired by a passage from Emily St. John Mandel’s novel Station Eleven, I wrote Still Winter Air especially with young violinists in mind. The result is a recital piece of electroacoustic music within the range of an average high school violinist that would also be at home in any electroacoustic music festival.

N.B. — The electronic track for rehearsal and performance will be emailed once your order has been completed.

Program Note:

“This is my soul and the world unwinding, this is my heart in the still winter air.” My piece for amplified violin and electronics, “Still Winter Air,” is inspired by this passage from Emily St. John Mandel’s novel Station Eleven, in which the opening character feels adrift in the aftermath of an apocalyptic flu epidemic.
